Welcome Baby Asher

We are so excited that our new addition has arrived! Asher Odin Mirock was born March 19, at 9:50 pm at 7 lb 4 oz and 20 inches long. I was very lucky to have a quick labor and a successful vbac with no epidural or pain medication! We had a somewhat exciting drive to the hospital. I was admitted at 7 centimeters dilated and delivered an hour and a half later. Asher is the perfect little baby, rarely cries and is an excellent nurser. We couldn't ask for more. I am having so much fun with him and spend much of my day just staring at him.
Our family is adjusting well and Pierce is proud to be a big brother. He helps me change diapers and informs me when there are "no babies allowed". Pierce is also exerting his independence. The other morning we were all sleeping in with the baby, but Pierce got up early at his regular time and went downstairs to play. When Oma woke up to check on him later she found that he had gone into the refrigerator and gathered all the ingredients for a turkey and cheddar sandwich on a flax seed pita. The pita was nibbled all around the edges, the block of cheddar had bite marks and there were random bits of turkey spread over the kitchen floor. He then asked her if she wanted to see his brown water. After a while she figured out what he was talking about. He had also gone into the refrigerator, taken out a pitcher of iced tea and poured himself a tall glass. There wasn't a drop of tea spilled. I guess he figured that when a new baby arrives and a guy just wants a turkey sandwich with iced tea, he better just get it himself!
