Berries and Babies

I've never made jam before, but I thought it would be the cutest baby shower gift for my sisters party. I had a lot of fun making it and the jam turned out great! It may not look like a lot, but that was 8 pounds of strawberries! Now I can't wait for our neighbors to put out their blueberries.

My Cutie Pies

Look how darned cute those boys are! OK, so Pierce has a little leftover birthday cake on his face, it only adds to the charm.

Happy Birthday To Me!

I turned 32 over the weekend. All I wanted was a couple of nice pictures of me with the boys, so here they are! We had a great weekend. First we made our annual trip to herb fest. Pierce rocked out to the african band that they had there. His bird flapping move was a particular hit with the band and the rest of the audience. Then we came home for naps and spent the rest of the day grilling outdoors and making strawberry jam (I'll post pictures of that later). I had a delicious birthday cake. It was chocolate with raspberry jam and vanilla frosting. I'm not eating any dairy products while I am nursing and was SO excited to find a dairy free bakery! I'll be visiting there often. It was a great birthday!

Rain To A Bear Is Nothing At All

The weather is turning warm and summer is around the corner. That can only mean one thing. Picnics galore! I recently read on of my favorite books to Pierce. The Berenstain Bears Picnic. As a result we picniced (spelling? is that a word?) 3 times over the weekend. The last one was my favorite. The weather was looking ominous, but we had no fear! We simply opened up our patio umbrella (Why, rain to a bear is nothing at all!). As we balanced babies on our shoulders and plates on our laps the rain began to fall. I love the summer!

Peg Leg Pirate

I learned something new today. Did you know that 1 scooby doo band aid, applied directly to a very minor scrape on a 3 year old boys knee, renders said knee completely useless? In fact, it will make him wobble around the house like a peg leg pirate for hours on end. He will even need to be carried up the stairs! The only cure that we have found so far is to A.) Gently remove the band aid in the shower (be prepared for much yelling and screaming) or B.) Set off on an adventure in the woods behind our house to find that elusive pond (he's convinced we have one, and that a shark lives in it).
